When we are born and we first board the train, we meet people In whom we trust, and who will be with us for most of the journey: our parents.
Sadly, they usually get off at a station before ours,
leaving a great void of love and affection behind them without their friendship and presence.
There are others who board the train and who eventually become very important to us ; they are our brothers and sisters, friends and all the marvellous people whom we love. Some of these people who get on, consider the journey only as a short interlude.
Others will encounter many upsets and tears
during their journey.
Others still, will linger on to offer a helping hand to anyone in need, and some people on the train will leave an everlasting impression when they get off...
We will sometimes be upset that a passenger, whom we love, will choose to sit in another compartment and leave us to travel on our own.
Then again, there’s nothing that says we can’t seek them out anyway.
Unfortunately, sometimes, we may not be able to sit next to them, because that seat will already be taken.
And so this is the journey: filled with challenges, dreams, whims, hopes and goodbyes...
We must try to make the journey in the best possible way. The greatest mystery of our journey is that we don’t know when our last stop will come,
neither do we know when our travel companions will make their last stop.
Not even those sitting in the seat next to us.
We should all strive to leave behind us, when we finally get off, an empty seat that leaves pleasant ,joyful memories to those who remain behind to continue their journey.
To all those who make up “our train”
