This recognition must be spread over sponsors, directors, coaches and athletes who, with great passion and sacrifice carry on the activities of the club. In the meantime, the championship in “calm waters” of the Teamnetwork Albatro continues in League A1, where the mixture between young athletes from the clubs of young players and the more expert athletes seems to be producing good results, with the important improvement of the former through the careful and exact work of the Slovenian coach Tone Medved. Satisfaction comes from the youth tournaments where the Under 18 team, headed by Fabio Reale, asserted itself in first place in the first round, as well as the surprising Under 14 by the Fusina-Rudilosso pair.
There is also great activity in the handball school for the smallest players, from 7 to 12, with increasing numbers of them obeying the orders of the coaches Settembre, Garcia and Viscovich, and under the constant supervision of the head coach Medved.
An important new feature will be the organization, by Peppe Vinci and Alessandro Fusina, of the “Teamnetwork Summer Campus 2011”, which will be held for children aged 9 to 14 in June, at a well known tourist village in the seaside area of Siracusa, and which will also be attended by young athletes and coaches from other Sicilian clubs.
They will become acquainted with handball without overlooking fun and relation-building activities. The “Progetto Mani” activities are also continuing, as per tradition, with four schools in the city holding workshops on Sport, Creative Writing, Music and Theatre, to the great satisfaction for the participation of the youngsters and teachers, who find great support from the professionals involved for the enrichment of the school syllabus.
