Despite the recent political and social events which hopefully will lead to a democratic outcome, the region continues to offer considerable potential for development connected with the need for the infrastructures essential for the growth and recovery of the countries in the area, as well as the continuous expansion of local tourism. In order to manage the commercial development and guarantee the appropriate assistance service for clients, the company Contimpianti Maghreb S.a.r.l. has been incorporated under Tunisian law. Its head office is in Tunis and it will act as an operative base for the whole region. Tunisia was chosen because of its proximity, the good logistic opportunities and the economic and customs agreements with Italy and Europe, which considerably reduce the operating difficulties.
The first commercial initiatives have allowed obtaining a contract with the state cement works “Les Ciments de Bizerte” for the turnkey renewal of the fluidification and extraction of the 5 cement silos of the plant in Bizerte. The work concerns three cement silos with a diameter of 20 metres and two with a diameter of 12 metres. In May 2011 the site is due to be opened for the first part of construction which will be carried out by a local partner under our supervision. The estimated duration of the project is about 20 months to be in line with the silos as the cement works makes them available.
